Sky Blue Season: November

Sky Blue Season: November
Sky's Friday night viewers witnessed another poor display from the Sky Blues at the beginning of November, despite Leon Best's early goal.

Rob Hulse, linked with a move to the Ricoh Arena later in the season, did the damage for Derby with two second-half strikes.

Best was again on the mark after the international break to secure a point at home to Crystal Palace, a game which saw a debut for central defender Richard Wood, signed from Sheffield Wednesday.

'Richard has been a long-term target for the club and we are pleased to have him here,' Chris Coleman told the club's official website.

'This is an area of the team that I have wanted to strengthen and this is a great addition to the squad in the short term and we will look to make it permanent in January.'

Owls fans claimed that their club had got the best of the deal but Wood would go on to form a decent partnership with James McPake when both were fit and his absence from the Wednesday defence was keenly felt in the months that followed.

The new man made an impact at the other end of the field in the final game of the month, netting a late equaliser at Loftus Road to add another point to the City tally.
