'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Leicester City vs. Coventry City

Walkers Stadium

12 January 2008

15:00

Leicester Preview

A local derby at the Walkers Stadium and plenty to look forward to despite both sides occupying lowly league positions.

The Sky Blues go into the game on the back of an excellent FA Cup win at Blackburn while the Foxes have been extremely busy in the transfer market.

Vital Quotes: Iain Dowie

'They have got a huge squad and it is a game that should whet anyone's appetite because the M69 derby is always a good one for the fans.

'It's a surprise they have struggled a bit this season because they have brought in DJ Campbell and Collins John, and now they have Steve Howard.

'But that can happen - it is a very big club and the expectation is high, so it is a great game for us.'

Leicester City Team News:

New signings Gabor Bori, Laczko Zsolt and Ben Alnwick could feature. Isiah Osbourne is set to join on loan from Aston Villa but not until after the weekend.

Player to watch: Steve Howard

The big striker endured a difficult first-half of the season in the Premiership but is a proven performer at this level.

Coventry City Team News:

Kevin Thornton is in line to replace the suspended Michael Doyle after an impressive display in the reserves and with Stephen Hughes suffering from a dead leg.

Player to watch: Michael Mifsud

Out-of-sorts in the league of late, the Maltese star bounced back with a superb display against Blackburn last week.

Match Facts & Stats

The Sky Blues have lost five and drawn three of last eight games against the Foxes. Last season's 3-0 defeat at the Walkers Stadium came days before Iain Dowie's appointment as manager.

Ref Watch:

Martin Atkinson of West Yorkshire takes charge.

Next Fixtures:

Burnley at home for the Sky Blues, Norwich away for the Foxes.
