Coventry City aim to make it three league wins in a row at Loftus Road on Tuesday night after the excellent weekend triumph at Stoke City.
QPR have also been in good form of late and continued that on Saturday in Luigi De Canio's first game in charge.
'Robbie (Simpson) is out for the foreseeable future. It is a blow for us because he has been doing very well.
'But on the upside Leon McKenzie started training again last week and he looked very sharp.
'In a perfect world he would have played in a reserve game first, but he may well travel.'
Rowan Vine's loan spell from Birmingham ended at the weekend with reports on Tuesday suggesting the R's had moved to replace him with Chelsea youngster Scott Sinclair.

'When we first came in he was converting probably one in four or five chances but this season his conversion rate is a lot more ruthless,' assistant manager Tim Flowers told the Telegraph.
'His runs are a little bit more intelligent but like the rest of the strikers, he has still got to see that final pass which perhaps slips a teammate in with an easier chance.
'But, nevertheless, he has been in outstanding form of late and is a major threat.'
