The Sky Blues travel to Wearside in a better frame of mind after Tuesday's hard-fought win over Luton Town but know they need to raise their game even further to get a result from Roy Keane's resurgent Sunderland.
Stern John on his move from the Ricoh Arena to the Stadium of Light: 'Kevin Kyle at Coventry told me what a fantastic club Sunderland is, how big the crowds are and what a great place it is to be when things are going well.
'Hopefully things will continue to go as well as they have done recently for Sunderland and I will be able to help the club back into the Premiership.'
Adrian Heath on City bad-boys Robert Page and Michael Doyle: 'Their relationship might be a bit frosty for a while but nine times out of ten players get on with it after an incident like this.
'They have had a mad moment and they have to put it behind them and treat each other with respect.'
Stern John is in line for his debut after missing the midweek game against Crystal Palace.
No clause was put in the contract taking him to Sunderland that prevented him from playing in this game.
The former Luton Town winger is settling into life at Sunderland and will enjoy having another Trinidad & Tobago teammate to provide ammunition for,
New Zealand international Che Bunce comes into contention after his deadline-day signing.
'I'm a good old-fashioned centre-back,' he told Sky Blue World.
'I roll my sleeves up and I get stuck in.
'I've got a bit of experience to offer as well so I'm looking forward to my time here.'
Page and Doyle also come into contention after being dropped from the squad for the Luton game.
Made a solid debut in midweek as part of a much-improved City back line.
