Keeper on the way

Coventry City are set to bring in a new goalkeeper on loan later this week.

Reports at the weekend suggest a deal has been lined up for a Premier League shot-stopper.

That could mean many things of course. Many managers have promised to bring in a top-flight player only for the man in question to be a 17-year-old whose only connection with his club's first-team is when he brings back the polished boots to the dressing room.

Assuming it is a player with Premier League experience however, the likes of Sunderland, Manchester City and Everton look well-stocked for keepers.

Marton Fulop is once again out of the picture at Sunderland while the Sky Blues were linked with a deal for Kasper Schmeichel earlier in the season.

i dont think kasper will go on loan to you, because issakson wants to leave man city and joe hart is number 1, so he needs a back up, thats why sven said he had to cut kaspers loan deal short

Issakson can't leave before the summer now though can he (unless he goes to Russia or the MLS). It depends on whether we are signing someone to be number 1 or a back-up. Villa have also got three senior keepers in the squad.
