Schmeichel interest strange?

Thursday's Mirror follows up on the stories earlier in the week that Manchester City Kasper Schmeichel was set for a loan move to Coventry before the transfer embargo was put in place.

The Sky Blues were reportedly set to pay a small percentage of the Dane's wages in order to do the deal.

To the fan in the stand this seems like quite a strange deal to have pursued if City did indeed have a small sum of cash available to make a loan signing.

Andy Marshall appeared to be the difference between 3-0 and 6 or 7-0 on Tuesday night and surely isn't the weakest link in the current side?

As a Watford fan I have to agree. Marshall was brilliant on Tuesday night. My money would have been on getting in a centre half and/or a defensive midfielder.
