Attention turns to Charlton

Attention turns to Charlton

The focus at this stage of the week was expected to be on the first meeting between Iain Dowie and Charlton Athletic, the club where he was sacked early last season.

Events at Old Trafford have overshadowed that of course although Dowie will be keen to get back to winning ways in the league.

'Having a victory at Old Trafford on your CV is fantastic and I thought it was a great night for them,' Addicks manager Alan Pardew told www.newsshopper.co.uk.

'Phil Parkinson went to the game and he thought they played very well.'
