Club To Take Things On The Chin

Coventry fans are being encouraged to chinwag about the future of the club in a panel chaired by the legendary Jimmy Hill.

The club have launched a Joint Council with the intention of addressing a number of issues close to fans' hearts.

Initiatives and incentives to attract new supporters and boost attendances is one such matter fans will be invited to give their thoughts on. Jimmy Hill's panel as it will no doubt be tagged hopes to build on the achievements and the work done so far by the Sky Blue's Trust and the Save the Academy Scheme.

'We're delighted to launch this new initiative, which gives supporters the opportunity to put across their views through a recognised body,' said Hill. 'I've always believed in getting input from the fans and hope this committee can help take Coventry City back to the glory days of the club.'

Hill will be joined on the committee by members of the Sky Blue Trust, the Coventry City Supporters' Club and London Supporters' Club along with chairman Mike McGinnity and president Geoffrey Robinson.

Fanzines and supporter websites will also be represented on a rotation basis for the initiative, to further bring the fans of the club together.

The panel's first meeting is set for this Saturday before the game against Luton.

Natalie Cox, from the Sky Blue Trust, welcomed the move by the club: 'It is a fantastic opportunity for all Sky Blue Supporters to have their say. We hope fans will get behind the initiative and feel their voice is being heard.'
