'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Championship: Megson for Foxes

Gary Megson will be named as the new manager of Leicester City at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.

He told the Leicester Mercury: 'To be able to get this opportunity is fantastic and it is one I aim to grasp with both hands.'

Right up until Thursday morning, national newspaper speculation continued to link Iain Dowie with the post.

Vital View: Although the Sky Blues obviously need some sort of investment given the administration rumours that keep flying about, what's happening at Leicester shows that takeovers are not always 100% positive.

Milan Mandaric is onto his fourth boss already and although Megson may prove in time to be the man that Leicester want, at this stage, no-one surely would swap him for Dowie?
