Punters back Dowie exit

Bookmakers have been forced to cut their odds on Iain Dowie becoming the new Leicester City manager, despite a Coventry City statement ruling out the possibility that he will leave the Ricoh Arena.

bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth said: 'Coventry currently sit top of the Championship and it wasn't so long ago that Dowie caused controversy by leaving Palace for Charlton, so the money late on Monday evening at 16/1 was a little unexpected.

'However, Milan and Dowie have been linked before and the Tuesday reports have seen his price drop to just 7/2.'

Wednesday's Mirror suggests that the Sky Blues will allow Dowie to leave if they are suitably recompensed.

I hope he stays loyal to you. It would be a shame if he jumps ship after the good work he's done for you.

You can't tell though can you, contracts mean very little these days.
