Manchester United in cup for City

Coventry City will face Manchester United at Old Trafford in the 3rd Round of the League Cup, with the tie to take place in the week commencing 24th September.

The Sky Blues have lost on their last seven visits to Manchester but can take some heart from a decent cup record against the Premiership champions.

Keith Houchen's goal in the FA Cup 4th Round in 1987 of course helped City off on the road to Wembley.

Meanwhile in 1980/81, two 1-0 victories over the Reds in the 2nd Round of the League Cup set Coventry on their way to a first-ever semi-final appearance in that competition.
