Preston North End manager Paul Simpson took heart from his side's display against Coventry City on Saturday despite the two late goals they conceded to lose the game.

'I am gutted and massively disappointed with the result but pleased with the level of the performance,' he said.

'But you are judged on results and there are a lot of disappointed players in there.

'We have a two-week break now to get as many things as possible addressed.'
