Reaction v Notts County

Assistant manager Tim Flowers was pleased with the battling qualities Coventry City displayed in their 3-0 League Cup win over Notts County on Tuesday.

'A game like that is a war, not a battle,' he said.

'Notts County did not come here to lie down so we had to win that physical battle.

'I thought it was even in the first half but we stepped on
the gas after half-time and we could have more goals.

'We're a very fit team and we can push on in the second half.'

County boss Steve Thompson told his club's official website: 'In Coventry we came up against a good, strong team with a good manager.

'The difference in quality was the ball into the front players.'
