'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dowie at City under false pretences?

Coventry City manager Iain Dowie has been quoted in the Mirror on Friday expressing his unhappiness at the lack of transfer cash he claims was promised to him.

'I came here on the premise of having some finances but I can either throw my toys out of the pram or get on with it,' he said.

'I have brought a lot of staff here and I have to carry on working the way I would do.

'If we got a bit of investment from top to bottom, we could do well.'

Reports elsewhere on Friday suggest that the takeover by the US-based consortium is still progressing, despite the war of words earlier in the week between the club and the city council.
