'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Sky Blues week

New plans for a railway station at the Ricoh Arena are set to be submitted.

'We have 5,000 more people working there than we did three years ago and we have up to four million visitors each year,' said John McGuigan, development director of Coventry city council.

Dele Adebola meanwhile is keen to remain with the Sky Blues despite the increased competition for places up front.

Ipswich have been linked with the big striker but he told the Telegraph: 'I want to stay at Coventry.

'I have been with the club quite a while now and although I can't see into the future, I know that I want to stay and we will just have to see how it pans out really.'

Elliot Ward will be available for the opening game of the season against Barnsley after a successful appeal over the red card he received in the friendly against Northampton.

Tuesday's friendly opponents Espanyol were also 6-0 winners this weekend, against Glentoran, who the Sky Blues defeated 2-1 last week.
