'If It's Football, It's Vital'

City taking shape says Dowie

Coventry City manager Iain Dowie was in upbeat mood after his side's 2-1 win over Glentoran on Tuesday night.

'We had a competitive game last Saturday and are a little bit ahead of where we are but we are fine and the lads are working hard,' he said.

'Don't forget a lot of the lads were swimming at 7.00 in the morning, had a training session and then went in the gym in the afternoon before they played in the evening.

'They wouldn't normally do that for games so they are going to have heavy legs.'

Fitness shouldn't be a problem at least when the season starts. Good competition for places too.
