Pre-season: Cobblers boss upbeat

Northampton Town manager Stuart Gray is looking for his side to step up their preparations for the new season with two friendlies this week, the second of which sees Coventry City visit Sixfields on Saturday.

After returning from a training camp in Ibiza, he told his club's official website: 'The fitness is good and the conditioning work has been done.

'Now we are moving on to look at shape, formations and the technical side of the game.

'We are looking forward to a good week.'
