'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The rumour round-up (2)

Since the end of last season Coventry City have been linked with a whole host of potential new signings, with boss Iain Dowie making 9 additions to his squad to date.

Now that the transfer activity is set to die down while the ownership of the club is sorted out, Vital Coventry looks at the players who have been mentioned as possibles for the Ricoh Arena this summer.

Francis Jeffers - the one-time £8m man is still at Blackburn Rovers. Ipswich Town saw two offers rejected for the striker and then pulled out of a potential deal earlier this week after failing to agree personal terms.

Dimi Konstantopoulos - the Sky Blues snapped up the Greek goalkeeper ahead of Sheffield Wednesday and Watford after the expiry of his contract at Hartlepool United.

Kenneth Kronholm - the American goalkeeper is not at the Ricoh Arena and doesn't appear to be with Fortuna Dusseldorf any more. Other than that it is a bit of a blank!

Alan Lee - A £500,000 offer from Hull City for the Republic of Ireland international forward was rejected by Ipswich earlier this week.

Tommy Miller - the midfielder is still without a club after leaving Sunderland despite talk of interest from the Championship and also from Hearts and Steaua Bucharest.

Daniel Nardiello - After looking set to stay with Barnsley, the Welsh international forward signed for Queens Park Rangers recently on a free transfer.

Donovan Simmonds - the Sky Blues snapped up the former Charlton youngster after the striker impressed in an exit trial match at Lilleshall.

Robbie Simpson - a tribunal ruled earlier this week that Coventry will have to pay an initial fee of £40,000 for the former Cambridge United striker.

Wayne Thomas - the defender is still under contract at Burnley.

Sean Thornton - after leaving Doncaster Rovers, the former Sunderland midfielder has now joined Leyton Orient on a two-year deal.

Andy Todd - Derby County completed a deal for the Blackburn centre-half at the start of the week, paying a fee of around £750,000.
