'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Coventry City week

City have confirmed that Italian club Udinese will provide the opposition at the Ricoh Arena for a pre-season friendly on Saturday August 4, kick-off 3pm.

The 'Bianconeri' finished 10th in Serie A last season.

New goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos believes he can wrestle the number one jersey away from Andy Marshall.

'I like the competition,' the 28-year-old Greek told the official club website.

'The harder it is, the harder you have to work and I am really looking forward to working with Andy because he is a very good goalkeeper.'

Ex-City man David Pipe is in talks with Bristol Rovers over a £100,000 move from Notts County.

Halifax Town have appointed former Sky Blues defender Peter Atherton as assistant manager. His former Highfield Road team-mate Paul Furlong has moved to Luton Town on a free transfer after leaving QPR.

John Eustace meanwhile is close to agreeing a new contract with Stoke City.
