Dowie on double City deal

Coventry City manager Iain Dowie has been speaking to the official club website after sealing free transfer moves for Arjan De Zeeuw and Ellery Cairo.

37-year-old centre-half De Zeeuw left Wigan Athletic at the end of last season while winger Cairo was at the end of his contract with Hertha Berlin.

'Arjen is a model professional and is a hugely-experienced player while Ellery has pace to burn and will provide some much-needed width to the side,' said Dowie.

'I'm sure both players have what it takes to be very competitive at this level and they add more quality to the squad.'
