Palace midfielder in talks

Palace midfielder in talks

Coventry City are in talks with experienced former Northern Ireland international Michael Hughes over a one-year deal according to Wednesday's Daily Mirror.

Hughes is out of contract at Crystal Palace and well-known to City boss Iain Dowie.

Such a signing would fit in with Tim Flowers' comments about City currently shopping for free transfers and loan signings.

Another reported target, Lee Hendrie, has been offered £20,000-a-week by Leicester City according to stories elsewhere on Wednesday, a figure that the Sky Blues could not match at present (if they wanted to).

At the moment free transfers and loan signings are the order of the day until ownership of the club is sorted.
