'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Coventry City week

Pre-season friendlies have been announced against Nuneaton Borough on Tuesday 17 July and against Bedworth United on Wednesday 8 August.

The Sky Blues will also be going on a short tour of Northern Ireland, playing away games against Shrewsbury and Northampton and are hoping to arrange a home friendly against either Italian or Greek opposition,

Michael Mifsud played as Malta lost 1-0 away to Bosnia-Herzegovina in a Euro 2008 qualifier on Wednesday.

Former players in the news include Youssef Safri. The Moroccan midfielder, currently with Norwich City, is the subject of interest from West Brom while Paul Hall has re-joined Walsall from Chesterfield.

Goalkeeper Gary Montgomery has signed a deal with Grimsby Town after being released by Rotherham.

Ex-loan winger Darren Currie is looking for a new club. His contract at Ipswich has expired and Derby County, where the 32-year-old ended last season on loan are not offering him a permanent deal.
