Season as it happened - April/May

A Sunday shocker at Birmingham City signals the start of April for Coventry City and the end of their unbeaten run under boss Iain Dowie.

The rallying calls follow but QPR come away from the Ricoh Arena with a 1-0 win a week later.

More positive is the 1-1 draw at Derby on Easter Monday but Dowie is lost for words by the home hammering that Preston then dish out.

'The two goals in the second half were the easiest that will ever be scored and the fourth one was a joke,' says the exasperated boss.

Performances improve in defeats at Sheffield Wednesday and at home to West Brom before the season ends on a decent note with a 2-1 win at Burnley.
