City should take a punt on U's star

Cambridge United striker Robbie Simpson looks set to join Coventry City this summer after netting 17 goals for the Conference side as they battled relegation at the foot of the Conference.

Although at this stage it's not a signing to set the pulses racing, the Sky Blues are right to look into the lower leagues for potential new signings.

Freddy Eastwood and Michael Kightly are just two of the success stories to come out of non-league football in recent years and if nothing else, Simpson should be hungry to make it in the professional game.

Agree that there's no harm in adding this lad to the squad but the transfer policy as a whole seems unclear at the moment and Flowers himself said this week that they still don't know what the budget is.

I'm quite encouraged by the signings so far. More strength in depth is what we need and bringing in pllayers who are hungry to do well is a positive.

Andy Morrell is another shining example (still miss the fact he is no longer a Sky Blue)...if the price is right we should make the signing.
