City bid for Conference hotshot
Cambridge United forward Robbie Simpson is the subject of an offer from Coventry City after the expiry of his contract with the Conference side.
The Sky Blues would have to pay compensation for the 22-year-old, scorer of 17 goals last season, if they cannot agree a fee.
'We made an offer, but there is some distance between the two clubs and it looks set to go to tribunal,' boss Iain Dowie told the club website.
