'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Season as it happened - December

Coventry City's December begins with a 0-0 draw at home to Stoke City, followed by a hard-fought 1-0 win at the Ricoh Arena against Burnley.

An unbeaten run of five games has sparked talk of a play-off push but the Sky Blues then crash 5-0 at West Brom in a game that seems to blow away any confidence they had built up.

Dismal defeats away to Luton and at home to Ipswich on Boxing Day follow.

'Micky's very down,' says assistant boss Adrian Heath after the Ipswich defeat sparks an angry reaction from the fans.

'He is a proud man and obviously doesn't want to listen to that sort of thing.

'Our performance was poor and we all understand the fans' frustration.'

Spirits are not raised too much by the 1-1 draw against struggling Southend United that ends 2006.
