Blues exit for City target

Former Crystal Palace wideman Julian Gray, linked with a move to Coventry City since his former boss Iain Dowie took over at the Ricoh Arena, has been freed by Birmingham City.

'Julian will be leaving,' said Steve Bruce of the 27-year-old left-sided midfielder.

'We had a one-year option but we decided it's best to let him go.

'To be fair to him, he just wants to play football and his chances here are limited.'
