The season at the Ricoh

Saturday's battling defeat against West Bromwich Albion brought the curtain down on the second season for Coventry City at their new Ricoh Arena home.

The Sky Blues ended their home campaign with a record of played 23, won 11, drew 4 and lost 8, scoring 30 goals and conceding 25 for a total points haul of 37 out of 69 on offer.

Last season's home league record read won 12, drew 7 and lost 4 with 39 goals scored and 22 conceded, taking 43 points from a possible 69.

City drew a blank on seven occasions in front of their own fans, who witnessed just 3 games where the home side scored more than 2 goals, 3 against Norwich City, 3 against Sheffield Wednesday and 4 versus Barnsley.

That Barnsley game, together with the Wolves midweek match were probably the highlights of the home season, with the wins early on against Sunderland and Norwich also in the frame.

Seven opposition sides were prevented from scoring with Crystal Palace and Preston both helping themselves to 4 goals apiece in what were possibly the 2 worst home displays of the campaign although the games against Ipswich and QPR were also pretty dire from a Sky Blue point of view.

Not much in there to inspire plenty of season ticket sales but things do look a bit brighter with Dowie in charge

For the goals we scored that day I'd go for the Barnsley game as the best of a reasonably bad bunch

what links the championship and a bunch or cordless drills? NO LEEDS- boom boom.

Nice one skyblueox - Wisey's landed on his feet throughout his career so I thought he'd get Leeds out of it, but no. There's always someone worse off than yourself!
Rugby Sky Blue
True. Although we're pretty low at the moment ourselves!
