Dowie unhappy at McKenzie clause

Leon McKenzie must again sit out a game against his former club Norwich City this weekend as part of the deal that took him to the Ricoh Arena, and new boss Iain Dowie is none too happy.

'It seems to be in vogue in the modern day,' he said.

'I don't understand because if you buy someone you buy someone.

'It is bizarre that everyone does it now, but I am not a great fan of it.

'I have never sold someone and said he can't play against me.

'A loan is different, but that's where we are.

'I wish it had been exclusive to Nigel Worthington, but we just have to deal with it.

'It's a blow because Leon's reaction to being left out on Tuesday was top-class and he did well when he came on.'

We had that with Fagan when we sold him to Derby, did help us draw 2-2 with them, as I believe Fagan would of tore us apart. Leeds did it to is as well with Livermore how if we had him in our team they wouldn't of beat us 1-0. Can sometimes work in your favour but more often then not it wont
