A Day To Enjoy For Coventry City Supporters

A Day To Enjoy For Coventry City Supporters

Coventry City supporters will travel in large numbers to Milton Keynes on Saturday, the FA Cup Fourth Round draw allowing for nearly 8,000 tickets to be allocated to the Sky Blues.

It will bring back memories of a similar number of fans heading to MK in 2013, a time when City had been exiled to Northampton by their owners with 'home' matches at Sixfields being played out in front of less than 2,000 people.

The intention then was to make clear the level of support that still existed for the club and the point was made in no uncertain terms.

Similarly, the televised FA Cup tie at Arsenal in 2014 saw a large number of travelling supporters and the opportunity to make a high-profile protest at SISU's running of the club.

This Saturday offers something slightly different, not that the issues that were highlighted before have gone away, far from it as we still do not know where City will be playing their football next season.

But the ticket allocation, relatively short distance to travel and the one-off nature of the tie mean it is a genuine chance for fans to simply enjoy the day and cheer their team on for 90 minutes.

Mark Robins himself has highlighted the 'different' nature of the week by sending his team on a bonding trip to an escape experience, telling the official website: 'It's a great activity to build up a team spirit in the camp, especially ahead of the cup game against MK Dons on Saturday, where we'll have 8,000 fans travelling down to support us and, hopefully, help us reach the fifth round.'
