Port Vale Upbeat For Sky Blues Clash

Port Vale Upbeat For Sky Blues Clash

Port Vale head into the Boxing Day League Two clash with Coventry City in upbeat mood after taking seven points from a possible nine.

Manager Neil Aspin was pleased with his side's display at Colchester on Saturday where the game ended 1-1.

He told the official PVFC website: 'In the second half the players did everything that I asked of them, dominating the game against a good side, and we fully deserved to get something from it.

'They're a very honest group and they give their all every game which is what you need when you're in a scrap, but in the second half we showed some decent quality.'

Last season's corresponding fixture, in League One, provided a rare moment of cheer for Sky Blues supporters as City gained their first win of the campaign at the eleventh attempt.

Marvin Sordell and Chris McCann scored the goals.
