New Signing Already In The Coventry City Building

Ahead of the transfer window opening on 2 January, Reading striker Josh Barrett will train with Coventry City over the festive period before officially making a loan move to the Ricoh Arena.

Manager Mark Robins had promised early moves on new signings as soon as the window opened and has been as good as his word with the deal to land the 19-year-old Republic of Ireland U21 international.

'We are delighted to be able to bring Josh to the club and for him to be a part of what we hope will be a successful season,' Robins told the official CCFC website.

'With the right hard work and determination, we are sure that he will enjoy a successful spell with us until the end of the season.'

City have allowed defender Darragh Leahy to leave the club, cancelling his contract by mutual consent.
