Coventry City Weekend Supplement
Another sub-7,000 crowd saw Coventry City gain a crucial three points in League Two on Saturday, Marc McNulty scoring the winning goal to see off Cheltenham at the Ricoh Arena.
Thinking about attendances, I looked up the biggest at the stadium (for football) since it opened and the second-highest remains that for the England versus Germany Under-21 game.
Presumably the club, now they are merely tenants of Wasps, no longer put themselves forward to host international matches, a situation that probably suits the FA given the Sky Blues off-field situation although the location and size of the Ricoh would make it ideal for fixtures involving the Under-21`s or England`s Senior Women.
…Belated congratulations to those involved with the Coventry 2021 bid after it was chosen for the City of Culture.
One of the other cities in the running was Paisley in Scotland so perhaps that can be counted as the previously un-played second-leg of the Coventry City versus St Mirren Anglo-Scottish Cup tie from 1987!
...And a reminder that a special ticket offer is in place for Friday evening's home game against Wycombe Wanderers that reduces the cost to £10 each for a group of ten people and £15 each for groups of six or more.
