Non-League Bank Holiday Action

Non-League Bank Holiday Action

With Coventry City making the long trip to face Yeovil Town on Saturday afternoon and not in action on Bank Holiday Monday, there are plenty of opportunities to catch a match locally over the coming long weekend.

In the National League North both Leamington and Nuneaton Town have made slow starts to the season, taking three points from their five matches to date.

They meet at Liberty Way on Saturday before Leamington host AFC Telford United and Nuneaton travel to Boston United on Monday.

Bedworth United and Rugby Town both bowed out of the FA Cup last weekend with home defeats, the Greenbacks are at home to Corby Town on Monday while the Valley entertain Bedworth's cup conquerors Haughmond at Butlin Road on Saturday.

After their long trip to Weymouth on Saturday, Stratford Town host Redditch United on Monday.

There's the chance to watch three matches in as many days in the city itself, Coventry Sphinx taking on Bromsgrove on Saturday while Coventry United Ladies (Sunday 2pm v Portsmouth) and Coventry United (Monday 3pm v Worcester City) are both in action at the Butts Park Arena.

If you want to watch decent football you don't always have to follow football league matches, there are some very entertaining games to be found in the lower leagues.Solihull Moors for example, play at a decent level, have some talented players and you don't have to spend big bucks to go and watch a match. It's a pity some of these teams don't attract bigger crowds for t's well worth following one of the local non league sides if it's too much to go follow your team on away days.
