Wembley Winner Sparks Interest In City Hero

Wembley Winner Sparks Interest In City Hero

The day after his superb winning goal at Wembley, Coventry City forward George Thomas is reportedly attracting attention from Newcastle United among others, according to tweets from this football journalist...

High-profile strikes often spark this kind of interest (I remember Michael Mifsud being linked with Premier League clubs the day after he scored at Old Trafford) but if clubs have been watching Thomas with a view to making a move, the fact that he showed such quality and composure in the biggest game of his career will have made their mind up.

Clubs these days are looking for that flash, that sign that a player can do it when it really matters and a goal like Thomas's at Wembley, which would have gone in against any team, is perhaps worth more than a season's worth of run-of-the-mill finishes.
