Adams 'still smiling' after draw

Coventry City manager Micky Adams was a happy man after his makeshift side came back from 3-1 down to earn a Ricoh Arena replay against League One side Bristol City.

The obituaries were being written for under-fire Adams when the home side went 3-1 in front after just 21 minutes but Stern John's late goal capped an excellent fightback.

'People were saying I would be out by 5pm if we lost - well, it's ten past five and I'm still here and still smiling,' said Adams.

'We knew it would be tough game and we weren't disappointed. I have the utmost respect for Bristol City and their manager Gary Johnson, who has been very well organised.

'But we showed great spirit at 3-1 down. Don't forget we had a striker playing at right-back, a right-back at left-back and Ben Turner, who was excellent, making his debut.'

A great cup match and well played by Cov. Got to fancy ourselves in the replay though. Let's let the media get over their fascination with Micky's non-sacking and concentrate on scoring some goals in the league.
