Wise calm heading into New Year

Ex-Coventry City midfielder Dennis Wise, whose Leeds United side take on the Sky Blues on New Year's Day, is not worried by his side's current league position and the threat of dropping into League One.

'It's too soon to be talking about anything like (relegation),' the Elland Road boss said after the 2-0 defeat by Sunderland on Boxing Day.

'There are 21 games to go and eight wins or seven wins can get you out of it.

'You've got to start worrying if there are 12 games to go and you're struggling.'

Yes but you actually have to go out and get those 7 or 8 wins. When a bad run starts it is incredibly difficult to get out of. It may be a tight division but when you are near the bottom it is too tight for some to cope with if an injury or too affects the first team choice.
