Burnley boss unhappy with referee

Visiting manager Steve Cotterill was left to rue the penalty that separated the two sides at the Ricoh Arena.

'We've got to sharpen up and get better referees,' he said after official Mike Thorpe adjudged that Coventry City's Dele Adebola had been fouled by Wayne Thomas.

'There were big decisions to be made and the big decisions he's got wrong.

'We just want a consistent standard. We lost because we weren't ruthless enough and because of the referee's decisions.

'He wasn't up to the required standard and that isn't bleating about refs.'

No referee is perfect. Lots of mistakes are made by referees that on balance affect every club fairly equally so it's not worth complaining.

As a total neutral - I have to say that it was a first class decision! C'mon people - we only love the game because it's controversial. This time Burnley got the stinky end of the stick - next week it will most probably be us - Relax and enjoy!
