Tuesday Reaction: City Share the Spoils
An entertaining game at Sixfields on Tuesday night ended all-square as Coventry City and Barnsley shared four first-half goals.
The match showed that the Sky Blues, although they still have problems conceding goals from set-pieces (and immediately after scoring themselves), retain a threat in attack that many thought would be lost when Callum Wilson and have a depth to their squad that contrasts sharply to the same time last season.
Steven Pressley was able to bring on Shaun Miller and new signing Simeon Jackson to try and force a winning goal. Jackson, Conor Thomas and Mohamed Coulibaly all started for the under-21's against Swansea on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking after the Barnsley game, Pressley said that he was pleased with the spread of goals in the opening matches of the season.
'Jim O'Brien got one on Saturday, Reda Johnson got two on the opening day and now Jordan Clarke has one and that's the type of contribution I want.'
