'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ex-Sky Blues in Europe

A number of former Coventry City players made the headlines across Europe this week for both good and bad reasons.

Robbie Keane was on target for Tottenham in their Uefa Cup tie against a Club Brugge side that contained former midfielder Philippe Clement.

Clement's fellow countryman, Cedric Roussel, scored for Zulte Waregem as the Belgian Cup holders continued their surprise progress in the Uefa Cup with a win over Sparta Prague.

Viorel Moldovan's goal earned Rapid Bucharest a draw at Hapoel Tel Aviv in the same competition.

Two strikers who came close to moving to the Ricoh Arena were also on the mark, Francis Jeffers for Blackburn and Nacho Novo for Rangers.

In the Champions League, former loan defender Gary Caldwell was singled out for criticism after Celtic's 3-0 defeat by Benfica, a game in which Paul Telfer also played.
