'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Sky Blues at Sixfields

Largely deserted it may have been for much of the season but Coventry City's form at Sixfields in 2013/14 was actually better than at the Ricoh Arena the year before.

The Sky Blues said goodbye (temporarily) to their 'home' on Saturday afternoon with a League One fixture against a Wolverhampton Wanderers side crowned as champions last week.

A 1-1 draw meant a record of 35 points taken from 9 wins, 8 draws and 6 defeats against last season when 28 points were taken from 7 wins, 7 draws and 9 defeats.

The effect of playing games in a different town with sparse crowds does not seem to have bothered City too much. Perhaps the most plausible reason for this may be that opposing teams were as unnerved by the strange atmosphere as the hosts and that Steven Pressley's team got used to the surroundings fairly quickly.
