'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Crewe Boss Looks For Quick Reaction

Crewe Alexandra host Coventry City at Gresty Road on Saturday afternoon with the two teams having experienced differing fortunes in their midweek fixtures.

While the Sky Blues were grinding out a crucial 1-0 victory against Stevenage at Sixfields, a result that leaves them six points above the relegation zone, the Railwaymen suffered a 3-1 home reverse against a Notts County side that had begun the evening on the foot of the League Two table and just a single point now keeps them out of the drop zone.

'I never think we've turned the corner at Crewe,' said manager Steve Davis afterwards. 'We didn't show enough quality in the final third but they were able to put a lot of bodies on the line.

'We huffed and puffed a little bit and started to play a bit more football. But we switched off for their last two goals.'
