Gills Looking Up After 'Nervous' Three Points
Gillingham host Coventry City on Tuesday night with both sides level on 41 points in the League One table after contrasting weekend results.
While the Sky Blues failed to recover from the loss of two early goals at Colchester United, the Gills were scoring late on to defeat Crawley Town at Priestfield.
'I'm absolutely delighted with three points, a very important three points,' said manager Peter Taylor.
'The performance was nowhere near what we want, a nervous performance but for effort and the way they kept going I couldn`t ask for any more.'
Charlie Lee netted against Crawley but it is former Sky Blues striker Cody McDonald who is the Kent club's leading goalscorer with 13 so far this season.
He was on the mark at Sixfields earlier in the season but City won the game thanks to Franck Moussa's late goal as they moved out of the relegation zone for the first time following the 10-point deduction made at the start of the campaign.
