'If It's Football, It's Vital'

City Boss Realistic On Ambitions

Having been playing catch-up since the eve of the new League One season, Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has admitted that a top six finish is probably beyond his side.

With eleven points now separating the Sky Blues from a play-off place, the Scot told the Coventry Telegraph: 'I look at the table and look at the weekend`s result which was a blow because these are the games that we have to win if we want to be serious about challenging.'

Pressley rightly goes on to highlight the achievement of even talking about a play-off place given the points penalty imposed at the start of the season. The energy and attitude of both manager and players has kept alive a campaign that most thought would be a relegation battle right from the beginning.

Regardless of what happens off the field, Pressley deserves a level playing field on it in 2014/15.
