Vital Archive: Jordan Henderson Shines For City
February 2009 was one of the better months of the new century for Coventry City as they progressed up the Championship table and secured an FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea at the Ricoh Arena.
Part of the Sky Blues side who went unbeaten throughout the month was Jordan Henderson, a young midfielder signed on loan from Sunderland whose energy contributed to the positive vibes running throughout the club.
His first senior goal came in the 2-1 win at Norwich City on February 28 and he was then called up for England's Under-21 side.
Few would have thought then that he would make a £20m move to Liverpool or become a key part of the Reds' revival but there is now a big chance that Henderson will be part of the World Cup squad this summer.
