'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Andy Thorn Named As Harriers Boss

Former Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has made a surprise return to the hotseat after being named as the new boss of Kidderminster Harriers.

Thorn, who went from chief scout to manager when succeeding Aidy Boothroyd at the Ricoh Arena in 2011, takes over from Steve Burr having been working as a scout for England manager Roy Hodgson recently.

The Harriers have slipped to seventh in the Conference in recent weeks but held Peterborough United to a draw in the FA Cup at the weekend before Burr's exit.

Chairman Mark Serrell said of Thorn: 'The entire board have been simply blown away by his enthusiasm and desire to succeed both personally and for us here at Kidderminster.'

It is impossible to judge Thorn's time at Coventry City simply on the basis of results given the restrictions he worked under at the time and this particular supporter felt there was always an element of doubt cast on his ability simply because he had not followed the traditional management route.

Vital Coventry wishes him good luck in trying to get Kidderminster into the Football League.
