'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The New Home Of CCFC?

Coventry City Football Club have released details of what their new stadium will look like, subject to a suitable site being found for what will initially be a 12,500-seat arena with the potential to rise to 23,000.

Chief executive Tim Fisher and development director Steve Waggott have spoken to the official club website to explain more of the thinking behind the project.

New Stadium Plans Revealed

It is hard to make any comment on the stadium plans until they take a step closer to becoming a reality with a deal to secure a site. In the absence of that or any kind of positive news over the Ricoh Arena it is business as usual (sadly) for Sky Blues fans.

Update At one stage on Friday a story about the proposes stadium was the most read on the BBC website and quoted Mark Labovitch, non-executive director of the club, as saying that negotiations were ongoing for two potential sites.

"They're going to be very, very near to Coventry.

"Coventry has a very tight boundary so you can be extremely close to the city, but outside the jurisdiction of Coventry City Council."
