Death Without Glory: The FA Cup 2nd Round

Coventry City travel to the North East on Saturday afternoon for an FA Cup 2nd round tie against League Two side Hartlepool with all eyes on Sunday's 3rd round draw when the Premier League and Championship clubs enter the fray.

A big, money-spinning tie is what all lower league clubs are after at this stage and, although a cup run would stir mixed emotions for City fans given their exile to Sixfields it would at least increase the opportunity for Steven Pressley to continue developing his squad.

Pressley's side will be in confident mood after arresting their mini-slump with a fine win at MK Dons last Saturday but the Sky Blues boss will have to shuffle his options as loan duo Chris Dagnall and Chris Maguire are unavailable and Callum Wilson is suspended. That means either Franck Moussa or Billy Daniels operating as a lone striker in a 4-5-1 formation.

Former Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough defender Colin Cooper is in his first season as a manager with Hartlepool and has steered the side into mid-table after a slow start.

'I think they (Hartlepool) have a good style of play because they really try to pass it,' Pressley told the official CCFC website when looking ahead to the game. 'I have watched a number of their games and I have been really impressed.'

Keith Houchen's opinion was always going to be canvassed given his connections to both clubs and he told the Hartlepool Mail that he fancies the hosts to cause an upset.
