Micky on Southend win

Micky on Southend win

Micky Adams felt his Coventry City side rode their luck at times in Friday's 3-2 win at Southend United.

'We were fortunate to get the points because we were under severe pressure,' he said after Dele Adebola's late winner.

'We've struggled away - our last win away was at Hull where we adopted the same system we played tonight.

'Some of the comments people have levelled at us have hurt and we have responded and tonight kept going, that's the pleasing thing.'

Thought we played fairly well and looked a lot more threatening going forward than in previous away games. Eastwood is a top player for them.

I thought we had blown it when we let Freddy through...well done to the players though; we kept going and got the result.

If you rode your luck then that is good to be winning when not playing as good as you can.
