CCFC: Media Focus On Gates And Goals

Coventry City's hugely impressive display against Colchester United on Sunday lifted them off the foot of the League One table while also wiping out their 10-point penalty imposed at the beginning of the season.

Boss Steven Pressley and his team deserve huge credit for the work they have done and the spirit (not to mention excellent, attacking football) they are showing.

Much of the media focus on the game was on both City's goal threat, Callum Wilson in particular, and also the fact that the game was played in front of a record-low league attendance.

Steven Pressley was realistic on the subject afterwards and those who feel that a rise up the table is going to be accompanied by much-improved gates may be mistaken.

With 1,100 tickets already sold for the Port Vale away game it seems that those who will not travel to Northampton will get their fix of the Sky Blues on the road and give them their full support in that way.

I think it's possible for people to feel they are still supporters of the club whether they go to Sixfields, stand on the hill or listen on the radio and go to some away games.
